Up and coming events at the Idaho’s own jewel in the crown, the Botanical Garden

Here’s a sampling of the goins’ on at IBG in September. Take a look at the new events calendar to the right to see what else is happening around here……..garden wise.

September 11 – 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. $4 members & non-members. Pre-registration limited to 60 people.

Harry Orchard’s place in Idaho history was defined by his assassination of Governor Frank Steunenberg and the subsequent trial of his alleged co-conspirators. Byron Johnson will give a talk on the William Haywood trial, with emphasis on Harry Orchard’s role. Tours at the Old Idaho Penitentiary State Historic Site and the Idaho State Historical Society Public Archives and Research Library will discuss Harry Orchard’s life at the Old Pen and the historical aspects of the Haywood trial.

Tuesday, Sept. 25, 6:30 p.m. – John Bieter’s talk focuses on three generations of Basques in Idaho, from 1890 to the present and will examine how each generation had a different perspective on their culture and a different experience in Idaho.
