Following are June events that will take place at Stonebridge Gardens, the new outdoor tropical themed venue located off Highway 55 near Shadow Valley Golf Course. June 15 Garden Gourmet Series-Outdoor Cooking and Entertaining: Add a little excitement to your outdoor cooking with recipes and dishes prepared by Chef Sonja Degenhardt of A Table in Thyme. Sonja will prepare grilled salad, grilled pizza and grilled pineapple with pound cake. June 22 Garden Gourmet Series-Culinary Herbs: Join Chef Mark Wilkerson, On the Range, and Annya Dethman, Good Scents Herb Nursery, for an informative evening about fresh culinary herbs and their uses in cooking. You will learn about growing and harvesting herbs then enjoy tasty offerings after a live demonstration on how to make use of fresh herbs in sauces, compound butters, fresh pasta, salads and tapas. June 23 Concert on the Green with The Mystics: Join us in the garden for an evening of classic rock with one of Boise’s longest-running groups playing music that spans several decades. Bring your low back chairs or blanket, picnic dinner, nonalcoholic beverage and get ready to enjoy the beauty of the tropical themed garden while listening to music from the 50â€™s, 60â€™s and 70â€™s. June 24 Garden Art-Hypertufa Troughs: Learn to make a Hypertufa planter in this hands on workshop. Hypertufa is a mixture of peat, perlite and cement and provides a lightweight container for many plants. Modeled after stone troughs that were once used to hold water and feed for live stock in England and the Orient, Hypertufa troughs resemble stone, will not freeze if cured properly, and last for years.
