Dill Pickles all in a row

Peter Piper pshaaaaaaaw. Here’s what I did on my summer vacation:

And that’s just the “half of it.” I’ve got another 10 pounds of gorgeous fresh cucumbers that will make another batch of 16-20 pts of dills tomorrow. Then, if I am still standing, I’ll get another 10 pounds and make bread and butters.

Saw today that the peaches are coming in. Some are still not quite ripe, so in a couple days, we ought to both be ready.

My cucumbers have finally slowed down and I am missing the pickling already. Do you ever have a hard time keeping those pickles packed? I will have them packed ( like in your photo) and right after the juice goes in and the hot bath is complete I get a gap at the bottom of the jar. Secrets?!

    Those look good!

What’s your favorite way to preserve peaches? We’ve had an excellent crop this year and I’m looking for new and interesting things to try.
