Gardens of the Wild Wild West

Gardening is civil and social, but it wants the vigor and freedom of the forest and the outlaw. ~H.D. Thoreau

Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day, December ‘09

December17

Sure, you say, what exactly do you have blooming in Idaho in December? Well, I had to scramble to come up with some offerings. But scramble I did and here you have it:

A tempest in a tea pot: hand tied tea balls that open into gorgeous blossoms. This one, with appropo name: Wild Flower

Amaryllis 'President Johnson'

I will start now, to think of blossoms in January. Boy, will I!

Why would anyone name a lovely flower like that after President Johnson? I can see naming it for his wife. ;^) The painting is gorgeous!

Love your creativity…and the fact that your amaryllis will actually be in bloom for Christmas. Mine is still sitting on the windowsill looking very, very dormant. I generally shoot for Valentines Day…or Easter:). And yes, your painting is wonderful.

Ah, very nice! I had some of that tea tonight! But my amaryllis is not cooperating!
