I'd suggest leaving a small dog walk behind the raised bed, so Cash can still visit his friend without trampling plants or injuring himself trying to see her. That way, you'll both be happy.

I just wrote about the Cicada Killer on my blog, as well. July and August are the months they're active, when the Cicadas are, as well. Someone in my neighborhood wanted to call the exterminator, so I published the post to provide some information.

And most of my encounters with them have been the females with their prey. I rarely see them solo, which are more likely the males defending their territory.

Optimism indeed! No wonder you had bad dreams about that cicada killer. I hate them although I've never been stung. Like I told you, they remind me of Terminators always searching for their prey.

My veggie garden sucks. It just does I'm sick of it.~~Dee

Hey, Mary Ann, there was a cicada killing wasp buzzing around my front yard this morning and I saw where it had dug holes in the lawn to drag cicadas into. Then I saw a dead cicada on the lawn. All very gruesome. I once saw a cicada killing wasp actually attacking a cicada, paralyzing it so it could drag it to its hole. Wanna see? Look if you dare... http://maydreamsgardens.blogspot.com/2006/08/violence-in-garden.html

By the way, my sister was stung by one once, so they do sting people every once in a whlie.

I sure could send you some green beans but I'd rather send you some Serrano peppers because I have WAY more than I could ever use!
