I want to see pictures of all those glorious flowers! You do sound a little tomato crazy...those pink ones sound great, but how did you walk out of the botanical plants sale without just one? You must have more self control than I. Tip of the hat. I hope to be eating out of my "Garden" shortly. My herb garden was put into place today. Smiles.

I have killed my share of seedlings, too, including melting seed flats in the oven (long story). Even Winterrowd & Eck, famed gardeners of North Hill, hire out most of their seed starting. The most important thing is knowing your limitations and being at peace with them. Like Dee, I've decided I can't raise children and seedlings both.

I share your frustration with seed starting. Of the 8 Sweet Peas I planted, only 1 has sprouted so far. Even if the others do show up, it will be too late for them, as it will be too hot by then.
For British voice to speak to plants, I vote for Stephen Fry. He has a beautiful speaking voice.

I've started a lot of things from seed, but for me it is a welcome diversion from a busy life. It allows me to take time to enjoy gardening earlier than if I only bought plants from the store.

I've decided that seeds are only for stuff I absolutely positively cannot grow any other way. And there isn't much of that.

No pics of your tulips? I love to see how people use them.

Gala apples are among my favorites.

No salad for me yet, unless you count what I ate while standing in the garden. I love those radish thinnings and the strawberries.

Funny you should mention the seeds. I've decided no seed starting for me next year. Too much trouble. I got people and animals to baby. I don't need seeds too. Til next time, Dee

I suppose not every gardener is going to enjoy starting plants from seeds. I won't think less of you (or much less of you) for being one of those gardeners. After all, if you talk to your plants like the rest of us, you can't be too bad.

I'm envious of your salad, but can't believe how late you plant your peas, compared to me who planted them over a month ago.

On the rabbit front, I am still taking chances, not covering my crops. So far, so good, as I haven't see the first nibble gone. But I need to remain vigilant!

Have a great week in your garden.
