nice list. when I signed up at blotanicals (where I found you) I listed a digging fork as my favored tool, but had I been thinking about my hori hori tool???

With all that great stuff, they won’t be beginners for long. Great list of thoughtfulness. Whenever I see a hori hori knife though, I think of those old WWII movies with the jungle scenes. I know, I’m a weirdo.~~Dee

The stuff I don’t have on this list I’ve wanted since forever. Especially that cart. You made up a great list and I love how you describe things. Have yet to bring my Felcos to a party, which might mean I go to the wrong parties. What do you think?

Execellent suggestions! The hori hori knife (which I lovingly call my “hari kari” knife is also good for dividing some perennials. I can’t imagine how I got along without it. I have Dirr’s book & Aust’s book. They are both indispensible and much used. I also love the nitrile gloves.

I have several of these items, including the hori hori knife and the Felco pruners and a couple of the books. But why is there no hoe on this list? Doesn’t every new gardener what a nice garden hoe to make them feel like a real gardener?
